Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Three days per week (or equivalent), term-time only + 5 INSET days
Contract Term: Permanent
Salary: NJC Grade 7 Atcual Salary £18,605 - £20,650
Lymm High School is a well-established 11-18 school with over 1950 students (approx. 400 in the Sixth Form) and exceptional resources, including 28 acres of beautiful grounds, a swimming pool, leisure complex and our own residential centre in Anglesey. We have a strong track record of excellent exam results at both GCSE and A’ level and an excellent reputation in the community. It is also a lovely place in which to work; in addition to good fortune with our physical surroundings, staff are exceptionally positive, committed and supportive.
We are looking for a committed and qualified candidate to provide support for the mental health and emotional well-being of the wonderful students in our Sixth Form.
A key aspect of this role will be the provision of one-to-one counselling, so the successful candidate will need to hold a recognised counselling qualification and be registered with a professional body such as the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy or equivalent. However, the role will be much broader than this; you would also be very much working as a member of the wider Sixth Form team, providing pastoral and well-being support for the Sixth Form as a whole and helping to foster the ambitious and nurturing environment that makes our Sixth form so successful.
As well as being a skilled counsellor, the successful candidate will need to be adaptable, good humoured and resilient. The Sixth Form is a warm, dynamic and rewarding place to be; there is always plenty going on and so you will need plenty of energy to keep up as well as make the most of getting stuck in to what we think is a very exciting role.
We warmly invite you to come and visit the school for yourself, and to meet with us, to see whether Lymm High School would be somewhere you would enjoy working.
This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this legal requirement.
The successful applicant's appointment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment clearances including a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Closing date for application: Friday 5th June
Interview Date: TBC (Please note, we may interview early, for the right candidate)
